Renzu: I lied

  • Aug. 17th, 2008 at 11:24 PM
I'm held up by watching The Olympics** everyday, along with work (it's suddenly crunch time on a project this month) and whatever free time I have left is put towards the music album and the set of artwork that comes with it, so maybe you should come back in a month, heh. Here's a current draft of one of the graphics:

Across the Threshold

Across the Threshold

That's the product of a photoshoot, 3D graphics and a lot of compositing work.

**yeah, I know how it's considered cool to hate on The Olympics these days as a vehicle of blind nationalism and commercialism, but the sheer insanity and scale of the event, with all its intertwined multi-layered idealism and hypocrisy, integrity and corruption, spectacle and horror, sportsmanship and politics only serve to make it more interesting (and real) to me. Also there are athletes performing totally inhuman feats in competitions more intense than 5 super bowls and 10 world series.

Dara Torres is gettin' it done at 41.
Did you catch the end of the women's marathon? That artwork is very nice.

Renzu sez
yeah I did... I try to catch whatever I can, though I'm more interested in the skill stuff than the strength/endurance stuff.

Fair enough.
Yeah, I think I actually like the diving the most. Closely followed by gymnastics. I was mostly impressed with the marathon because the winner was 38 years old.
